California is a national leader in the development of clean, renewable wind energy. California mandates require electricity suppliers to provide a fixed percentage of electricity from renewable resources and prohibit electric utilities from constructing/entering into long-term contracts with power plants that do not meet greenhouse gas emissions standards. San Bernardino County has substantial untapped wind and renewable energy resources. Development of these renewable energy resources will create new jobs, tax revenues and provide millions of dollars of direct investment in the County and its communities.
